Check Permissions - UK publications

Copying permissions under the CLA Licences depend on the country of publication and the format the publication has been published in. 

UK print publications are generally covered for photocopying and scanning within the extent limits of your CLA Licence. Exclusions may apply. Please see below for further details.

Rules for digital publications are a little bit different. If the publication you want to copy from is an ebook or ejournal, (i.e. published born-digital) that you have purchased or subscribe to, you should check the  list of participating digital publishers that is relevant to the CLA Licence you have.

• If you have a CLA Higher Education Licence or a CLA Independent Higher Education Licence please refer to the list of participating digital publishers for CLA Higher Education Licensees
• If you have a CLA Education Licence (e.g. as a Further Education College) or a CLA Schools Licence please refer to the list of participating digital publishers for CLA Education Licensees

Depending on the CLA Licence you have, certain exclusions apply.

• If you have a CLA Higher Education Licence or a CLA Independent Higher Education Licence, please refer to the list of excluded publishers for CLA Higher Education Licensees and the list of works excluded by the author or artist. 
• If you have a CLA Education Licence or a CLA Schools Licence, please refer to the list of excluded publishers for CLA Education Licensees and the list of  list of works excluded by the author or artist.
