Second Extract Permissions Service - How to place an order?

Once you have been set up with a login profile as a user for the Second Extract Permissions Service, you can order permissions to use another chapter or another 10% of a publications from participating publisher and this is on top of the extent limits already permitted under you CLA Higher Education Licence.

As not all publishers are participating in this additional service, you will have to identify eligible titles in the Check Permissions tool. 

• Please make sure to select the Higher Education Sector as this additional Service is only available to CLA Higher Education Licensees
• We recommend that you search by ISBN or ISSN as permissions are linked to this identifier
• If a publication is eligible, you will see a green tick and a purchase button.

• Clicking on the purchase button will take you through to the login page. If you are new to the service and have been set up with a username, please click on the 'Forgotten your password?' link to set your own password. 

Once you have logged in, you will be able to add a course reference, the numbers or students on the course and the number of pages you wish to copy to get a quote and confirm the order if you wish. 

The resulting fee will depend on the number of students on the course and the number of pages you need to copy.
