If you would like to sign up for the Second Extract Permissions Service, first of all please return a signed copy of the agreement to CLA, indicating who the main contact will be. The main contact will be the person who we will contact in case of any changes to the service and who will be sent a copy of the invoice.
You can download the agreement here. You can send a signed copy by email. No need to post it back to CLA.
To use SEPS, you will need login details, which we will set up for you. There are a few points to consider and additional information we may need from you.
-
- The username is the same as your email address. We are happy to set this up with a generic email address if you wish, but please bear in mind that this can only be used once. It may also make password management more difficult.
- We are happy to set up individual members of your Team with their own logins. All we need is their full name and personal email address (which will be their username for this service once set up)
- We will confirm when your login credentials have been created. When attempting to log in the first time, please click on the Forgotten Password link to set your own password. We won't send out a temporary password.
- You can find the Forgotten password link when you are prompted to log in when making a purchase or when logging into the service.
Orders for SEPS are placed through the Check Permissions tool on the CLA website.
Ideally enter the ISBN of the publication you want to copy from for the most accurate and quickest results. Please make sure to select the Higher Education Licence Sector as SEPS is an extension to the CLA Higher Education Licence and exclusively available for HEIs. If the publication is eligible for SEPS purchases, you will see a purchase button, which will take you through to the login page. You can then enter the page and student numbers, view the quote and confirm the purchase if you wish.
To view the transaction history please log in here.
This text is intended for use as guidance only and not as a substitute for the CLA Licence terms themselves, which should be read in full. In the event of conflict between the two, the Licence shall prevail. For permissions not listed above, please contact the publisher direct.
